Border Security Force is the paramilitary force of India that guards the Indian borders with Pakistan, China, and Bangladesh. Founded on December 1, 1965, the Border Security Force prevents transnational crime and ensures the safety of every citizen of India. Being said that, the Border Security Force currently stands as the largest security force guarding the country’s borders with more than 25 lakh personnel. It is the reason why the Border Security Force is termed as the First Line of Defense of Indian Territories.

1. Educational Qualification – You must have cleared 10 + 2 standard or matriculation from one of the many recognized universities in India.
2. Nationality – You must have a citizen of India and must also be a permanent resident of India.
3. Age Limit – You must be in the age group of 20 to 28 years to become eligible for the Border Security Force Exam. However, this age group can change depending on the post you are applying for.

In the case of SC, and ST candidates, the upper age limit has a relaxation of 5 years and the OBC candidates have a relaxation of 3 years. These are the three eligibility criteria that you are required to fulfill to appear for the Border Security Force exam.

Selection Process for BSF Recruitment

The selection process of the Border Security Force includes a number of different steps. These various stages of the selection process of the Border Security Force exam include physical standard test, physical examination test, written test, trade test, medical test, and merit list. Written Exam Pattern for BSF Recruitment

The written exam of the Border Security Force consists of four different sections. These include general knowledge, reasoning ability, numerical ability, and trade awareness. Each of these four sections in the Border Security Force exam consists of equal distribution of marks.

For instance, the general knowledge section consists of 25 marks, the reasoning ability section consists of 25 marks, the numerical ability section consists of 25 marks, and the trade awareness section consists of 25 marks as well. Moreover, each one of these sections will consist of 25 questions each in the written exam paper. Therefore, ensure that you prepare accordingly and give equal weightage to each section duration of your exam preparation.

For the post HC and CT, the written paper consists of general knowledge, reasoning ability, and numerical ability. The general knowledge section consists of 35 marks, the reasoning ability section consists of 35 marks, and the numerical ability section consists of 30 marks. Being said that, the written exam paper of the Border Security Force exam is of multiple-choice questions. You get a total of 2 hours or 120 minutes to solve 100 marks paper.

BSF Recruitment Syllabus

4. Trade Awareness
